Being in tech for 10+ years has taught me a lot about creating and running software for real users. If there is one thing I learned it's that every minute spent on understanding users is easily earned back, often several times over.

That's why I get so frustrated by the long development cycles many companies have, often caused by centralized decision-making.

Each software project is unique, by it's context and constraints. The only way to end up with success is by shipping to real users, as soon as possible.

This is exactly why I love to work in small teams or even alone.
